Milipol Qatar 2021, an international exhibition, was held in Doha from 15 – 17 March. In order to get to it, it was necessary to have negative results of PCR-tests for COVID-19, the requirement of social distancing was taken into account and, of course, masks and temperature screening were obligatory for all participants.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers had to change the date of the event twice. Initially, registration for participation was open for 2020. But it was canceled.
The main theme of Milipol Qatar 2021 was modern solutions in the field of protection and defence, taking into account the growing problem with pandemics in the world. Among the participants there were traditionally a lot of American companies such as Boeing Defense, Honeywell Aerospace, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, as well as key players of the European defence industry: Thales Group, Rheinmetall, BAE Systems. However, in general, the scale of the event was much more modest in comparison with the pre-Covid times – participants from 20 countries of and a little over 200 companies presented their developments. A great emphasis by manufacturers was placed on cyber security and security management systems. A variety of integrated platforms were offered for monitoring, management and real-time response. Also of note were innovations in emergency management. Of course, the trend of integrating artificial intelligence continues, also with the aim of to enhance the effectiveness of measures for public safety.
“Perhaps the main question that hovered over all the exhibition locations at the Doha exhibition – what measures and what methods will be able to ensure, quickly and effective management and coordination of emergency services in case of emergencies. There are many innovative solutions that promise to ensure civil security in case of crisis situations.” – AKM Group-CZ.
International exhibitions in the field of protection and defence mean of course new contracts, partnerships. Milipol Qatar 2021 was no exception. During the three-day participation, AKM Group-CZ held a series of successful negotiations, as a result of which new contracts and signing of memorandums of cooperation with new partners are planned.
